Health benefits of Mango

The king of fruits, Mango not only tastes good that but also offer a number of health benefits for your body. Mangoes offer important vitamins and minerals for our body, preventing that way many dangerous diseases and keeping our body healthy and fit. The fruit is also rich in vitamin E and it is believed that therefore this fruit is an aphrodisiac.

Mango, which is one of the most popular fruit in India, is also a nutritionally rich fruit with unique flavor, fragrance, taste, and heath promoting qualities which are:

Anti cancerogenic and prevents breast, colon and prostate cancer: Antioxidant compounds present in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers.

Lowers Cholesterol: Mango is rich in pre-biotic dietary fiber. The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad cholesterol).

Acts as a skin cleanser: Busting the myth, that eating mangoes can cause pimples and acne, the fruit acts as a skin cleanser. It cleans clogged pores and eliminate pimples by using both internally and externally for the skin

Keeps eyes healthy: Mango fruit is an excellent source of Vitamin A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin. Vitamin A promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes. Vitamin A is also required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin.

Prevents Diabetes: Mango is high in natural sugar, since it contains 31 grams of sugar in one fruit, but at the same time it is low in glycemic load, which means it doesn’t affect blood sugar.

Improves Digestion: Mangoes contain enzymes for breaking down protein. The fiber in mangos also helps digestion and elimination of acids.

Prevents Heat Stroke: Mango also controls homocystiene levels in the blood, which may otherwise be harmful to blood vessels resulting in CAD and stroke. The king of fruits is a very rich source of potassium, which is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure.

Boosts Immune system: It is also a very good source of vitamin-B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin-C and vitamin-E. Vitamin C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful oxygen free radicals.

9 Healthy, High-Calorie Foods

Just because a food is healthy doesn’t mean it’s not fattening. In fact, some of the most nutritious foods come with serious calorie counts—with good reason. Considering calories are “energy,” it makes sense that a lot of “natural foods” or “health foods” would be high in energy; After all, animals that eat them can be quickly and efficiently nourished. But since we’re not squirrels storing nuts for winter—or even for a rainy day—you’ll want to watch your intake of the following nutritious foods, unless, that is, you are intending to gain weight.

1. Nuts and seeds
High in protein, “good” fats, and, in many cases, antioxidants, nuts are a spectacular addition to any diet, provided you don’t eat too many. After all, ½ cup of almonds is about 410 calories, while the same amount of macadamia nuts is closer to 470 calories.

2. Dried fruit
Many dried fruits are dusted with sugar, which only escalates the already-impressive amount of calories in these dehydrated delicacies. But even with no additives, a cup of mixed dried fruits totals up to around 335 calories, while ¼ cup of dried raisins is 108 calories!

3. Smoothies
Even if they’re loaded with the freshest ingredients, you could be gulping down lots of extra calories with every smoothie—especially if you’re not making it yourself. For example, a “power” Strawberry Surf Rider smoothie from Jamba Juice is 580 calories!

4. Guacamole
Averaging 275 calories in a medium-size fruit, avocados are 75 percent fat, albeit the “good” fat. They are also packed with nutrients. But that doesn’t stop them from adding a layer to your thighs if you devour them unabashedly in the form of guacamole (which combines avocados, tomato, onion, lime juice, and seasonings)—or solo, for that matter.

5. Salad with dressing
It’s not the lettuce that’s the threat. It’s the dressing. And we’re not even talking creamy dressing! Oil-based culprits are as much of a threat as any salad dressing, considering a single tablespoon of olive oil has 119 calories. The good news is you can use less dressing or go for more vinegar or lemon juice and less oil when you prepare your own salads—or skip the dressing altogether!

6. Granola
Thanks to the sugar, oil, nuts, and other tasty ingredients often found in granola, this delicious breakfast favorite can average around 500 calories per cup—and that’s before you add milk or yogurt! For this reason, it’s wise to use it as more of a topping than a base for your next meal.

7. Peanut butter
As a fantastic low-cholesterol kid-friendly source of protein—and a darned tasty one at that—peanut butter is a staple in most cabinets and can certainly be considered a contributor to a healthy diet. But with nearly 100 calories per tablespoon, it’s one that should be enjoyed in moderation.

8. Cheese
It’s got calcium and protein going for it, but cheese is also loaded with saturated fat and has a good deal of cholesterol and sodium, not to mention calories. A single ounce of cheese can be anywhere from 72 calories (part-skim mozzarella) to 127 (grated Parmesan).

9. Quinoa
You’ve probably only heard about the upsides of this miracle grain—and there are many. But after it’s been cooked, this rice substitute and complete protein also delivers 222 calories per cup, which isn’t bad at all, but could help pack on pounds if it’s just the base or sidekick of your meal.

6 Drinks that Fight Age

These six drinks fight aging. See what they are and when to down them.

WATER

When to Drink: At the Alarm

Ex-CIA chief says he warned Russia against meddling in US presidential election

Former CIA director John Brennan said today that he warned Russia last summer against meddling in the US presidential election but the Russians went ahead and did it, anyway.
"It should be clear to everyone that Russia interfered in our 2016 presidential election process," Brennan said in testimony to the House Intelligence Committee, which is investigating possible collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump's campaign.
"And that they undertook the activities despite our strong protests and explicit warning they not do so," said Brennan, who served as CIA director from 2013 until January of this year when Trump took office.
Brennan told how he called the head of the Russian intelligence service, the FSB, on August 4 of last year.
"I said that all Americans, regardless of political affiliation or whom they might support in the election, cherished their ability to elect their own leaders without outside interference," Brennan said.
"I said American voters would be outraged by any attempt to interfere in the election," he added.
Brennan's interlocutor denied any Russian interference but said he would pass on the warning to President Vladimir Putin, the ex-CIA chief said.
Brennan reiterated that the CIA detected in 2016 possible signs of collusion between Trump associates and Russian officials.
Those contacts are now being investigated by committees in both chambers of the US Congress and by recently appointed special counsel Robert Mueller, a former FBI director.
"I encountered and became aware of information and intelligence that revealed contacts and interactions between Russian officials and US persons involved in the Trump campaign," Brennan said.
He said he did not know if this amounted to outright collusion.
"I know there was a sufficient basis of information and intelligence that required further investigation" by the FBI, he added.
Trump vehemently denies any collusion and says he is the victim of an unprecedented witch hunt.
Brennan also addressed news reports that Trump, in an Oval Office meeting this month with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador, shared highly classified information provided by a US ally about an Islamic State group plot to bring down civilian airliners with bombs hidden in laptop computers.
Brennan said that if these reports are true, Trump violated two intelligence protocols.
First, he said, such intelligence is not shared with ambassadors but rather through intelligence channels.
And before such intelligence is shared, the country that provided it must be warned so as not to jeopardize sources or methods, Brennan said.
"It appears, at least from the press reports, that neither did it go in the proper channels nor did the originating agency have the opportunity to clear language for it," Brennan said.
"That is a problem."

Donald Trump assures Britain of 'unbreakable commitment' after bombing

US President Donald Trump telephoned Britain`s Prime Minister Theresa May Tuesday to assure her of America`s "unbreakable commitment" in the wake of a suicide bombing in England that killed 22 people.
The White House said Trump, who called May from Jerusalem, offered US assistance in the investigation of the attack late Monday at a packed pop concert in Manchester.
"The two leaders agreed that this attack --which targeted teenage children and their friends at a joyous event -- was particularly wanton and depraved," the White House said.
"The president reassured the prime minister that Americans stand with the people of the United Kingdom and that our resolve will never waiver in the face of terrorism," it said.
The US statement said Trump looked forward to meeting May in person later this week to discuss "America`s unbreakable commitment to the United Kingdom and the ways both countries can work with allies and partners around the world to defeat terrorism."
British police arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the attack, which the Islamic State group claimed was carried out by "one of the caliphate`s soldiers."
The suicide bomber detonated an explosive device near an exit to the 21,000-person capacity Manchester Arena where US pop star Ariana Grande was performing to a sold-out audience.

Emergency spacewalk outside ISS underway; NASA astronauts Peggy Whitson and Jack Fischer take the reigns

The failed relay box was installed in the space station truss March 30 during a spacewalk by Whitson and Expedition 50 commander Shane Kimbrough.

Spacewalks are events that science and space enthusiasts look forward to with the initiation of every consecutive expedition launch. This time, however, NASA astronauts were asked to conduct an unscheduled emergency spacewalk to replace a critical computer relay box – that failed on May 20.
NASA astronauts Peggy Whitson and Jack Fischer have begun the spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS).
The relay box, known as a multiplexer-demultiplexer (MDM), is one of two units that regulate the operation of radiators, solar arrays and cooling loops. They also route commands to other vital station systems.
The spacewalk is currently underway and the LIVE coverage can be viewed here!
While the cause of the MDM failure is not known, NASA says the crew on the station is in no danger, and the MDM failure – believed to be internal to the box itself – has had no impact on station activities. Because each MDM is capable of performing the critical station functions.
The failed relay box was installed in the space station truss March 30 during a spacewalk by Whitson and Expedition 50 commander Shane Kimbrough.
Whitson, who prepared a spare data relay box May 21 and tested components installed in the replacement, said that the spare MDM is ready to be brought outside to replace the failed unit.
During the spacewalk planned to last about 2.5 hours, Whitson will replace the MDM, while Fischer will install a pair of antennas on the US Destiny Laboratory module to enhance wireless communication capability for future spacewalks.
The spacewalk – the 10th for Whitson and the second for Fischer – will be the 201st in support of space station assembly and maintenance. It is also the sixth spacewalk conducted from the Quest airlock this year.
Whitson, who already is the leading female spacewalker in history, will be designated extravehicular crew member 1 (EV-1) wearing a suit with red stripes. Fischer will be designated as EV-2, wearing a suit with no stripes.
A similar MDM replacement spacewalk was conducted in April 2014 by Expedition 39 crewmembers Steve Swanson and Rick Mastracchio of NASA.

New planet alert! Scientists discover 'puffy planet' 320 light years from Earth – See pic

This “puffy planet” outside our solar system may hold opportunities for testing atmospheres that will be useful when assessing future planets for signs of life, researchers said.

Scientists around the world have amassed such a huge number of data from the numerous studies and probes conducted on the universe, but that doesn't even comprise half the secrets that the world of space has to tell.
The mysteries of space are a forever metamorphosing phenomena, with something new and enchanting being revealed every day and a lot that is yet to be decoded.
In a new revelation, researchers have discovered a new 'blown up' giant planet orbiting an extremely bright star 320 light years from Earth that has the density of styrofoam.
This “puffy planet” outside our solar system may hold opportunities for testing atmospheres that will be useful when assessing future planets for signs of life, researchers said.
“It is highly inflated, so that while it is only a fifth as massive as Jupiter, it is nearly 40 percent larger, making it about as dense as styrofoam, with an extraordinarily large atmosphere,” said Joshua Pepper, assistant professor at Lehigh University in the US. Styrofoam is a kind of expanded polystyrene used especially for making food containers.
“The planet’s host star is extremely bright, allowing precise measurement of the planet’s atmosphere properties and making it an excellent test-bed for measuring the atmospheres of other planets,” Pepper said. The planet, called KELT-11b, is an extreme version of a gas planet, like Jupiter or Saturn, but is orbiting very close to its host star in an orbit that lasts less than five days.
The star, KELT-11, has started using up its nuclear fuel and is evolving into a red giant, so the planet will be engulfed by its star and not survive the next hundred million years. The KELT (Kilodegree Extremely Little Telescope) survey uses two small robotic telescopes, one in Arizona, US and the other in South Africa. The telescopes scan the sky night after night, measuring the brightness of about five million stars.
“The KELT project is specifically designed to discover a few scientifically valuable planets orbiting very bright stars, and KELT-11b is a prime example of that,” Pepper said. The star, KELT-11, is the brightest in the southern hemisphere known to host a transiting planet by more than a magnitude and the sixth brightest transit host discovered to date.
Though researchers are debating the cause of KELT-11b’s inflation, further study of the planet could provide additional information about the mechanism that causes inflated planets, Pepper said. The planet’s large atmosphere also provides good opportunities for developing techniques needed to identify chemicals to assess habitability or products of life in the atmospheres of other planets.
